Why would you say you are intrigued by fashion?
I am, like most, intrigued with the ability to paint yourself in many different lights through clothing. I love spending time seeing how other people decide to differentiate themselves, the way you dress certainly says a lot about you, and I'm always eager to be impressed. With that being said, I also love the culture behind brands in particular and the stories high end labels portray through collections and editorials. There has always been something extremely calming for me when you are fully invested in a brand, it's history, and ethos. That's why Rick Owens has been such an influential part in my interest in fashion, I feel like I am a part of something bigger when I invest in his pieces.
What are some current projects you're working on?
I am currently not working on anything other than the brand i'm working with now, Sandro, and trying to work up through corporate with them for the time being. I'm just taking everything one day at a time.
What are your short term or long term goals with your creativity?
My creativity in regards to fashion goes as far as the way I put together outfits in the morning, simple as that, so in terms of continual creativity I just plan to keep getting dressed and expressing myself that way honestly.
What are some of your favorite brands and why?
Rick Owens, as you can see this is currently my favorite label, like I previously mentioned, I got caught up in the brand's ethos mostly, but the main reasoning behind my love for the label would be the feeling I get when I wear it. I feel like I am a part of something bigger but also an individual at the same time which is a pretty big feat in my opinion.
A.P.C, this brand is one of the first brands that I ended up getting into as I got more interested in fashion, I am a huge fan of Parisian fashion, and I feel like this label encapsulates that perfectly, the price point is also not too bad which is a plus. This is a brand I could envision myself wearing for the rest of my life and be comfortable in.
Acne Studios, this brand got me into the individuality in fashion, but also helped me appreciate minimalism. Acne perfectly mends that bridge between the two and that's my favorite quality about it.
Other brands I am a huge fan of are Public School, Alexander Wang, John Elliott, Lemaire, among many others
If you had one thing you can tell your audience, what would it be?
Take the time to learn about who you are as a person and how you can use something as simple as clothing to command huge levels of attention, respect, and to portray yourself in many different lights. Embrace the individuality clothing gives you and understand that what you wear does matter and it makes you who you are. Lastly, see clothing for more than just a everyday part of life and appreciate it for what it offers.
